WHAT YOU'LL NEED

- Your first and last name, phone number and email.

- The address where spare parts should be delivered, entered as a street line followed by city, state and ZIP.

- A photo of the machine's plate, which the claim has always needed, plus photos of the issue.

After you submit, you get a ticket number and someone reaches out. Mike says the parts then ship to you, and that he has used the form for 20-plus claims himself.

Mike also warns buyers to check who they are paying. He mentions deals that are too good to be true, such as machines offered with many attachments for a very low price, and callers who lost thousands of dollars to people pretending to be Rippa. His advice: be careful where your money goes. Even if you didn't buy from us, we're happy to sell you a part like an oil filter.

WHAT HAPPENS DURING THE CHECK

- We test hydraulic pressure and make adjustments. On this R13, the target is around 2,600 PSI, and we work through the adjustment and any suspect valves until it's right.

HOW IT WORKS

- Every machine sold by Rippa USA Sales now ships with a tracker installed, activated or not. Installation takes under 10 minutes.

- To activate, call the number on the tag on your machine. The tracking company answers as Rippa USA Sales and walks you through downloading the app and setting up the monthly service plan.

Owners often say nobody will help them with parts or with a machine that won't run. Mike and Jake explain two ways Rippa USA Sales helps.

1. PARTS HELP

- Get in touch with us (we're a dealer just outside Fort Worth) and we will track down the part. Send a photo of the machine's data plate so we have the serial number and exact model, since there are different versions of each machine.

- We check with the factory, then give you two options: air freight (about 3 to 10 days) or surface shipping (about a third of the cost, around 3 to 6 weeks).

- Pay through our online payment link, by check or by bank wire. If the part is no charge, there may be a small handling fee.

2. TELE-MECHANIC VIDEO SERVICE

- Book a time on our website's service appointment page (under Company Information) and we'll connect by FaceTime, Facebook Messenger, WebEx or whatever works for you, so we can see your machine and you can see ours.

- We guide you through diagnosis and keep it short, generally about 15 minutes, to respect your money. The video discusses a $135 per hour rate, well below typical local shop rates. Call us to confirm the current rate.

- If we can't solve it, we bring in Rippa's technical staff and keep working with you until the part is identified, and we can walk you through removing and installing it.

- Example: an R15 owner whose machine wouldn't start after sitting. A phone call narrowed it to the fuel pump, and a video call would have been faster still.

Note that the factory is about 14 hours ahead of Texas, so back-and-forth on parts takes a day or so per round.

Rippa machines come with a manufacturer parts warranty but no service (labor) warranty, which is one reason they are priced so well. Mike announces that Rippa USA Sales is stepping up to offer a service warranty.

HOW IT WORKS, AS DESCRIBED IN THE VIDEO

- We help you arrange service on warranty claims, with coverage bound by a number of labor hours. Mike gives an example based on 15% of a machine's price, which for an R10 with a Kubota diesel works out to about 7.75 hours.

- It applies to the base machine, not attachments, and the engines remain covered by their makers (Kubota, Yanmar and so on).

- It is effective retroactively for customers who already bought a machine from us.

Mike notes that Rippa doesn't offer this itself yet, so he is leading the way and hopes other dealers follow. Call us to confirm the current terms before relying on them.

Rippa has upgraded the toolbox that ships with its machines, and Mike opens one up on the day a big shipment of equipment arrived at our Boyd, Texas dealership. The new box is about 13 inches long and replaces the older yellow one.

WHAT'S INSIDE (NEW AND CARRIED OVER)

- A strap wrench for filters, Allen keys and a mini funnel/siphon, carried over from the older kit.

- The correct replacement filters for the machine, new.

- A new spanner tool that helps with various bolts.

- A small bag of assorted screws. Mike notes that as a dealer, the hardware we buy is grade eight and stainless.

Every machine we sell goes through a formal, comprehensive inspection before it leaves our Boyd, Texas dealership. Mike explains what that means and now shares the checklist publicly.

WHAT WE DO ON EVERY MACHINE (RS03, RS04, RS06, R10, R15, R18, R22, R32, R57, R82, forklifts and more)

- Fill and check fluids, and replace the coolant with a mix rated to at least 20 below zero.

- Grease every fitting. We use a dark green extreme-duty grease, so you can see it when you pull the caps off the fittings.

- Adjust track tension and check hydraulic pressure.

- Dozens of other checks. Time spent ranges from about 45 minutes to over 5 hours per machine, depending on the model (an R32 gets about 3.5 to 3.75 hours of labor).

NOW WITH ACCOUNTABILITY

- The checklist is a two-page form signed by whoever did the work, and the person responsible for the machine signs overall.

- You will be able to call and talk to the person who worked on your machine, not a factory.

- We plan to email or text you the signed checklist so you can see it was done.

- The inspection date may be earlier than your delivery date, and that's fine.
