Most similar skid steers have two lift arms, so you either get stuck in the cab or crawl out the back window. The RS20 has a single arm.

- Cab: factory air conditioning, an air ride cushioned seat, a Bluetooth radio with stereo speakers, big LED lights on the front, and pilot controls.

- Windows: the front glass has a top section that rolls up, similar to a Kubota, and a removable bottom piece in case you need to exit that way. The back is completely sealed.

- Room: about 24 to 26 inches from the front window to the operator area, by Mike's estimate.

- Sealed engine compartment: side panels and thick steel plate keep dirt and debris out of the engine area. That helps with dust and fire risk, and is useful if the machine is used with attachments that throw debris.

- Service points: a battery compartment with a quick shut off, multiple cooling fans, a hydraulic oil tank with a sight check, the diesel fuel tank, coolant reservoir (keep it between low and full), air filter, fuel filter, and several grease fittings around the machine.

- Lifting: Mike cites an arm that can pick up over 2,200 kg (over 4,000 lb). Check the RS20 page for official specs.

NOTES FROM THE FACTORY VISIT

- On this first version, checking the oil means removing a panel held with bolts. Mike talked with an engineer about a field upgradable quick release.

- The engine shown was a Yanmar. Mike says Rippa is moving toward Kubota engines across its line, including a Kubota V2707 for the RS20. Check the RS20 page for the current engine.

- The factory has 12 assembly lines, which can build a mix of models.

This video was recorded early in the RS20 program and details have likely changed.
