Does the Rippa Excavator Cover Leak? We Put It Through a Water Test

A customer asked whether the Rippa excavator cover is real waterproof material or just cheap, water-resistant nylon. So Dakota climbed inside while Mike sprayed the outside with a garden hose.

THE TEST

- The cover is thick, heavy-duty fabric, with zippers at all four corners, Velcro and tie-downs. The sides roll up and tie, so you can leave the cover on in cold or rain.

- Mike sprayed all the zippers and seams, the back and the lower edges while Dakota watched from inside. Result: no water got in. Mike's conclusion is that it is effectively waterproof, apart from small openings near the bottom corners if the cover is on backward.

- Clear windows on all sides.

HONEST NOTES

- This is a first-version cover. The silk-screen printing isn't perfect, there are no grommets along the bottom for tie-down straps, and one rear flap is designed with a zipper pocket but no actual zipper.

- The next batch is planned to add grommets and clean up those details.

PRICE

- In the video the cover was offered at a reduced price with shipping included to clear the first batch. Check the product page or call us for the current price.
