After long term use, the tracks on a mini skid steer can become loose or even come off. This short video shows how to reset a track and adjust its tension on a Rippa RS06 mini skid steer, using a machine that had a track come off during operation.
STEPS
1. Remove the grease check valve on the track tensioner. This loosens the wheels supporting the track so the track can go back on smoothly.
2. Prop the machine up so you can reach the track and work on it.
3. Reset the front section of the track first.
4. Slowly turn the track and use a stick to help guide the upper and rear sections back into place.
5. Once the track is completely seated, reinstall the grease check valve.
6. Use a grease gun to add grease. The track tightens gradually as you add it, so stop when the track reaches the right tension.
TIP
Check your owner manual for the correct track tension on your machine, and call us if you have questions or need parts.
