Mike unboxes the Rippa tiller at the Boyd dealership and hooks it up to an RS03 on camera.
HOOKUP
- Tilt the attachment plate down so you can lock the tiller on, and lock it in.
- Pull the hydraulic caps and make sure no dust or dirt gets into the hydraulic system.
- If the motor runs backwards, swap the direction (Mike had to run the machine the other way to get the tines turning correctly).
- Mike would prefer the motor on top and would weld a small bracket or zip tie to hold the hoses.
DIGGING DEPTH AND STABILITY
- Measured depth is between 8-1/2 and 9 inches (about 8.75), which suits most users. It will pulverize the ground.
- When the tiller was lifted on pallet forks it stuck out 2-1/2 to 3 feet farther and was tip-heavy. Mounted on the attachment plate, it is stable even when raised.
- To rest it fully flat, put a 12x12 or a few 2x4s under each side so the tines don't touch the ground.
FIT
- This is a Dingo-style attachment that fits the RS03, RS04 and RS06-1.
Part two puts the tiller in the ground once it dries out, along with the trencher.
