Mike from Rippa USA Sales steps up to the Rippa R32 Pro excavator, a bigger machine with bigger tracks that is built on the same thinking as the R22.
WHAT HE POINTS OUT
- Boom cylinder protection: a thick steel guard protects the cylinder head down low. The cylinders higher up on the R32 and R57 do not need the steel on top because they sit too high to hit trees or other obstacles.
- Thumb: this machine did not have the thumb installed yet, but you can see where it mounts.
- Cab: a brand new cab with LED lights, speakers, fans, air conditioning and a fire extinguisher, plus keys, a hydraulic lockout and the same foot pedals as the other models.
- Battery disconnect: pull it and the machine cannot start. The safety lockouts also stop the hydraulic functions from working.
- Outside: mirrors, LED lights, a radio antenna and a beacon light at the back.
- Zero tail swing: the cab and engine rotate a full 360 degrees without the back end sticking out past the tracks, so you do not have to worry about hitting a wall, sign or structure behind you. Still watch the boom, which can make contact.
- Engine: a bigger Kubota engine with the coolant reservoir, air filter and fuel filter within easy reach, a cutoff and belt on the other side, and heat wrap to keep engine heat out of the cab.
- Counterweight: a big piece of thick steel across the back, which Mike estimates at about 600 to 700 lb. Check the R32 page on RippaUSASales.com, where Mike posted a chart of counterweights across the line.
Specs and features change as models are updated, so check the R32 page for current details.
