The RF25E is the battery-electric version of the Rippa RF25 forklift. Mike walks around the one we just received, which we are keeping for use at the dealership.
WHAT HE POINTS OUT
- A 5,000 lb lift capacity. The standard forks are shorter, and we ordered ours with 7-foot (84 inch) side-shifting forks. They're heavy: the team used a mini skid steer to lift them on.
- The electric model has a shorter mast than the diesel, about 9 feet 8 inches, and extensions are available.
- Controls: lift, mast tilt, and side shift levers, plus turn signals and lights.
- A small 110-volt battery charger comes with it. The batteries are lead-acid, and Rippa is working on a lithium iron phosphate option.
- The reverse alarm is loud, and Mike says he'll look for a way to muffle it.
PRICE COMPARISON
The RF25E costs less than $1,500 more than the smaller RF15E, which lifts 3,000 lb instead of 5,000 lb, so Mike says it's the better value unless you need the smallest machine.
