Mike from Rippa USA Sales walks through three mini skid steers, the RS03, RS06 and RS07, at Rippa's main warehouse in China, where machines are being loaded into containers.
RS06 AND RS07
- The RS07 is basically the RS06 with a steel cage so you can sit down instead of standing on the operator platform. Same machine and same Kubota D1105 diesel engine.
- Mike is 6 foot 1 and finds the RS07 tight to get into. He would like the cab about 8 to 9 inches taller, but says he would rather sit than stand if he were operating for eight hours a day.
- The RS06 has pilot controls and a spring supported operator stand that is much more pleasant to ride on.
- Service access is easy. You can reach the engine, hoses and air filter, and the hydraulic fluid tank and drain are easy to find, as are the engine oil drain, the intercooler radiator and the coolant overflow reservoir.
- Mike's view is that the D1105 has more displacement and torque than the engines in some competing machines of similar rated horsepower, so it can do the job at lower RPM and fuel use.
- The quick attach plate is a common style that works with many manufacturers' attachments, so you are not limited to Rippa attachments.
RS03
- A much smaller machine than the RS06. In the video Mike mentions roughly 600 lb capacity for the RS03 versus close to 1,000 lb for the RS06. Check the machine pages for current specs.
- Powered by a Briggs and Stratton engine, with pilot controls and a horn.
SHIPPING AND FACTORY
- The factory has 12 assembly lines running and ships containers daily.
- Machines come into the Port of Houston, which keeps transport to the Fort Worth area short and affordable.
